a year to the day....

... since me Dennis died, in some ways it seems a lot longer since we had him around in others it seems to have flown by. We've had a christmas and winter, an autunm and a spring, birthdays and other stuff all without him.
Was thinking about it all today and thought one thing at least is if he sees what I'm up to and what I do with me days then I think, for the most part and the majority of time, he would be proud! That makes me proud.
Will miss him always I think, you should see me garden Dennis it's looking smart!

skip, 5.30 and rabbits

well laine has started her new placement, she has done 4 shift over the last week, all beginning at 7am in Warwick. This has meant that we have both seen too many 5.30ams over the last 7 day. I do feel in a slightly better position as i can go back to bed after and i don't have to do it for 7 week. It was a case off all alarm clocks in the house going off this week to make sure she was up

then theres bessie, i must ring in a minute. She has been with Jane at the rabbit rescue for what seems like weeks. We may have a potenital new friend, Colin, he's a bit older than our Bess but is the only bunny there that she hasn't hated :) We'll see

Yesterday Ian and I tootled over to Melton to help me mum and Baz clean out my grandads garage. He had a lot of years to collect stuff and my he had done well. Baz isn't for throwing stuff out and I think he must have saved 15 hammers "just in case"

Today I'm pottering, in me garden, sorting caravan and maybe going to see Bess

oh and Dr Who was fantastic!!!

dennis's funeral

Today was Dennis' (grandads) funeral, sad day and a proper good bye for now. I am a bit wiped out but relieved it's over.
Ho hummm

hummmm important question

Training all day yesterday, meeting til 1pm today then cramed in as much work as possible this afternoon, pick laine up from work, then home to pick up a trailer for Ian, then to tescos to get security tag removed (they forgot first time)
Then trying on brown clothes for tomorrow (Dennis funeral) - black not good for my complextion, then shower eat and now computer.
I think I've asked most of my friends this; if one of the following had to disappear from existance which would you want to remain;
ham or cheese?

I'm surprised that more people than I thought say cheese. I say cheese :)

race for life

This whole grief thing is a toughy, it's a very personal thing.

I ran the race for life today at coombe abbey (with Ali, Ellie, Julie, Shannon and Jade), was a really good thing to do, lots of people running round in the sunshine for a good reason. Went I say run we jogged and walked. Was nice cos Leah Net and Leah's grandma came to watch :)

Grandad's funeral Weds, too far away for my liking but nothing we can do about it.

well back to work tomorrow

we went on a picnic today, in alphebetcial order:
Emma, Enisa, Elaine, Ellie, Jeanette, Ian, Leah, Lorraine, Megan, Pete, Sarah, Shannon

The sun was lovely, I took a wind break to protect us from the sun, we had games, food and drink.

Here is a picture of the wind break, the people are behind it

I was playing with Leah and Megs, (a bit of a balancing act) and developed good strong relationships with them both just by chasing them and throwing a ball and then.....................................................................................
Laine took them both to the swings and quickly became their favourite!!!!

Best bit was where Ian was trying to get the Dr Who theme tune via bluetooth and everyone with a mobile apart from Ian now has it.

Sarah took a magazine and Shannon co-ordinated the rounders, a number of adults picked on my shoes which do have some life in them yet!!!!

Enisa is back of to College tomorrow so it was nice for us all to see her today to see her off.

I went to Melton on Thurs, my grandma was really impressed that I could take a photo with my phone:

Saw my grandad again, he was just finishing a blood transfusion, sad stuff, he not very well and not himself :(
Friday me and Laine had coffee
Sat decked at the McMahon's
And after all that, back to work tomorrow :)

off on hols

we are going on holiday - oh yes we are

we are going on our hols tomorrow with the Pooles (Net, Ian, Leah) we are going down to Somerset Brean Sands, the weather forecast isn't looking too fantastic but I am in high spirits, there is a beach, animals, water, walks a swimming pool and our lovely caravan so what more could we want!!
I have got me things ready and I will admit I have packed 2 jumpers just incase :)
I tried our new "blows it's self up and deflates it self" airbed, it really did what it said on the box and all in 80 secs, how much easier can life get?!!

We went out of Enisa's birthday yesterday, her b'day is the sames as Laines 23rd but she was at college, she seems happier than she's been for a while which was nice to see!

Me mum and Baz came down as well, was nice to have them their, Baz and Pete got talking houses and extentions, me mum fell in love with the Burnette's stairs :)
Me grandad been poorly though, had to have paramedics out cos he couldn't breathe, still at home though, think he's determinded not to go into hospital.

Oh and me car is in for it's MOT, asked the very nice chaps at Stones Garage if they could hit my windowscreen wiper with a hammer cos it makes a click noise when I go fast in the rain.

hey ho - deck

I am a control freak, not like freaky freaky but I like being in control knowing what I think, where things are going and what might happen.
Something I have not a bit of control over is me grandad in hospital, still no news on to operate or not to operate! Now one fo the tubes has gone wrong, which the doctors have not sorted and he didn't get his cups of tea (this matters to dennis). This makes me feel very out of control cos I can't fix it.

And me pour old mum is also a little like me in the control thing and I know she feels a bit out of control which isn't okay when her dad is so poorly.

Anyway me decks looking okay, needs a bit more work but is okay, interestingly moving slabs today my hand was bleeding a bit and I have yet to find the source of the blood, weird!!!

mortgages

First thing, why is there a "t" in it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I spoke to our mortgage adviser today and we are off to see him on Monday to look at re-mortgaging, it's a lot easier getting him to sort it out :)

I decked today, if my mobile hadn't just run out of charge I would put a picture on but you'll have to wait. It isn't the strongest deck and I think I will need to re-inforce it when I get some pennies for some wood but it will do for now :)

Todays the day they decide if they can operate on Dennis, I will be awaiting for a phone call from me mum!!!

dennis

me mam rang me last night to say they had been to see my grandad and he well the news is, errrrm news.

He may be able to have some sort operation that could help but if it goes wrong that thats it gameover.
If he has the op he has probably up to 6 months until gameover.

Makes you take stock of things

broken up

Easter, easter easter and I have broken up from work for ooooooo 5 days. :)

I haven't blogged for a few days mostly cos I've felt tired, which I think may be a little down to the fact my bed has developed a squeak that keeps waking me up, I need to rectify this soon.

I have a few plans over Easter, gonna get the caravan serviced, gonna find someone to do the fence(I hope) gonna go Hatton wiv friends and gonna tidy me garden. Oh and probably go see me grandad again.

This weekend I spent my first afternoon in the garden in the sun, all be it Ellie's garden being bossed around by a three year old, love ya Megs, who thought someone 25 years young than me could contol me so well.

my grandad

here he is!!!!!!!!

Yay me

Sucess is relative, if you feel you have suceeded in something then you have, it doesn't matter if people see it as not a big thing :)

Well anyway I was out last night until 1am oh yes, me boring little Em and the 1am!!!

And it was a good night, people made me laugh and not always at my own expence, a couple of people kept checking I didn't want to go home, I'm not sure if Iwas yawning a little too much for their liking :)

Anyways, I gonna print some pictures off for my grandad cos I gonna go to leicester to see him today :)

Funny old days

Morning all, I've just finished work well an hour ago.
My car is making a very loud noise when I steer right, I think my wheel bearing is going. I'm off to the garage to get it looked at tomorrow. I love my garage, I ring them and they always say we'll have a quick look tomorrow and sort it from then and they have fixed all my faults no problems :)
I had a busy old day but got loads done, read some of a report by RSA on the current drugs legislation and why it should change, it was an interesting read although some of my collegeues disagreed on how interesting it was!!!
I just rang my grandparents to wish them a happy 55 wedding anniversay. 55 year, 55, 55! My grandad is poorly, he has cancer and isn't looking good but is amazing, he's full of life and seems to have no fear of death he says he knows wheres he's going and is looking forward to meeting him.
Mucho respect for my grandad!
